Registration Info for International Teams
We proudly welcome international teams to all 7Gen Culture events and are excited to host clubs from around the world in Hawai‘i. To ensure a safe, organized, and consistent experience for all participants, international teams register through the same AAU and SportWrench system used by U.S.-based clubs. While the process may feel unfamiliar at first, it is straightforward and our team is here to support you every step of the way. The guide below outlines the required steps to register your club, athletes, and staff with AAU and complete your team entry for our events.
Step 1: Register Your Two Primary Club “Non-Athlete Adults” with AAU
We strongly recommend starting with your two primary club administrators/coaches.
- Register the two main adults with AAU Adult Memberships – Join AAU
- Select “Non-Athlete Membership“
- Complete the AAU background check process for both
Why this matters:
- Background checks can take 2–3 weeks
- These adults are needed to register the club and manage rosters
- Completing this first prevents delays later in the process
Step 2: Register Your Club with AAU
Once the two primary adults are fully cleared:
- Register your club with AAU
- AAU will issue your official Club Code
Step 3: Register All Athletes (and Remaining Staff) with AAU
After your Club Code is issued:
- Register all athletes with AAU Player Memberships
- Register any additional adult staff with AAU (and background checks, if applicable)
- Ensure all memberships are active and linked to your club
Step 4: Create Your Club in SportWrench
Once AAU registration is complete:
- Create (or log into) your club account on SportWrench
- Enter your AAU Club Code to properly link the systems
Step 5: Register for a Tournament in SportWrench
- Search for the tournament you’re interested in SportWrench
- Register your team(s) under your club
- Select the appropriate division(s). Please note that some tournaments may have Club and Open divisions. Open Division is intended for elite, highly competitive teams seeking the highest level of play, while the Club Division is designed for developing and mid-level teams looking for strong competition with balanced matchups.
Step 6: Import and Complete Team Rosters
Once your club account is set up in SportWrench:
- Click the Athletes tab in your SportWrench dashboard
- Select Import
- This will automatically pull all registered players and staff from AAU into SportWrench
- Link each individual to the appropriate team
- Rosters must be fully completed by the roster deadline (to be shared separately)
Step 7: Payment
- Team entry fees are paid directly through SportWrench
- Your team’s spot is not confirmed until payment is received
- Payment deadlines are listed on the event page in SportWrench
